I’m in love with all OiOi diaper bags, but the new spring styles that just came in are gorgeous!
It would be easy to love OiOi diaper bags for their style alone, but since you read Materni-Talk, you know by now that I’m a fan of keeping our bodies free of toxins during pregnancy, and our babies free of toxins after they’re born. (Call me crazy, but I just don’t see what’s good about using skin care products that contain petrochemicals, carcinogens and reproductive disruptors. I’d like to have the lowest concentration of harmful substances in my body that I can, thankyouverymuch.)
So the big reason I love OiOi diaper bags is because they’re made of phthalate-free, toxin-free, baby-safe fabrics.

Now that you know the substantive reason to get excited about the new OiOi diaper bags, here are the style reasons!
First, I love the Black Quilted Carry All…but then…it reminds me of my purse, so that’s probably why. Like all OiOi diaper bags, it has that designer look to it–tastefully styled, with texture and intrigue. But then, it’s also your basic black, so it’s always going to be effortlessly fashionable. (I tend to be all about “easy” and “effortless” when it comes to my fashion.)
But, if I were going to get pregnant again, the OiOi diaper bag I’d probably end up getting for myself would be the new Safari Medallion Slouch Tote (also pictured above). First of all, it’s made of 100% organic cotton canvas. Second, the indigo pattern is stunning. And my third reason is that at this point in my life (I’m 36), I’d be a “mature mom,” and this upscale design just says “I am the kind of new mom who’s really an experienced mom, and I have it all under control…” like I’d want it to say (because that’s what I’d like to believe).
Also new to this season’s OiOi diaper bags collection something totally “wild:” snakeskin. Okay, fake snakeskin. When I first had my daughter–15 years ago–I was most definitely the Snakeskin-Diaper-Bag kind of mom. So even today, this edgy, exciting style appeals to me. The Faux Lizard Carry All diaper bags come in black or red. Say it with me, “Ssssssssoooo ssssssssstylish.”
I have an alter ego and she is cute. I am not cute. I’m tall and Amazonian, towering over most people from my 6-foot height. I have round features with nary a pixie nor dainty to be seen. I don’t sparkle, twinkle or shine. I have brown hair that’s getting ashy and gray (although I just dyed it for my wedding next weekend and I may never go back to natural!). I’m usually serious and introverted. In my opinion, there’s nothing much cute about me. But I love cute things. I love cute clothes and insist on frustrating myself by trying on cute styles that end up looking wrong on me. So…basically, my alter ego loves the Indian Paisley Gathered Tote Bag. But I could never pull it off. Could you? I bet you could. You’re probably way cuter than I am.
