Can I Use Skin Care Products for Pregnancy Before I'm Pregnant?

Posted by Administrator to Skin Care
Q: I'm not pregnant yet, but I'm planning to get pregnant soon. Can I use skin care products for pregnancy now?
 ~ Esther, Massachusetts

A: In a word: yes!

While skin care products for pregnancy feature special ingredients that target specific hormonal skin troubles (such as citrus oils and herbal extracts to fade "the mask of pregnancy" and alternative pregnancy acne treatments such as tea tree oil and lactic acid), such formulations will help your skin even before pregnancy.

In fact, many of our customers come to us before they're pregnant and even before actively trying to conceive so they can begin the transition to healthier, safer skin care products before pregnancy occurs.

Because it's common to be pregnant for two to six weeks before knowing it, making some lifestyle changes before pregnancy is a good idea. Limiting alcoholic beverages, taking a prenatal vitamin (or at least a folic acid supplement and a DHA supplement), and switching to less toxic, safer skin care products during your childbearing years can all help make your body more receptive to getting pregnant when you're ready to do so. Such steps also help you provide a healthier, safer environment for the first days and weeks of your new baby's development—when the spinal cord, brain and heart are forming even before you know you're pregnant.

Our skin care products for pregnancy—including facial cleansers, moisturizers, sunscreens, lotions, oils, shampoos and conditioners, lip balm, and nail polish, to name a few—are all made with exceptionally high quality to very high standards. They are safer, less toxic choices for women of all ages who are concerned about having endocrine disruptors, lead, DBP, toulene, phthalates, BPA, petroleum, sulfates, dyes and allergens in their bloodstream. I'm not pregnant, nor planning to become pregnant, and I use skin care products for pregnancy from Maternitique on a daily basis. They work great on my skin and I love knowing that I'm not adding to my body's burden of toxins, nor to the environment's.

Even if you're not yet pregnant, glowing, radiant skin with tighter pores, even skin tone and fewer wrinkles is a beauty aspiration for most women. Skin care products for pregnancy work just as well, if not better, to help you achieve that goal without loading your bloodstream with pollutants.

And having made the switch to skin care products for pregnancy, when you get pregnant, that's one less thing to worry about and one more thing to feel confident about as a new mother.

Did you use skin care products for pregnancy before you were pregnant? If so, which ones?

Tara
