Pretty Mommies pregnancy skin care is the newest addition to Maternitique’s already extensive collection of specialty skin care products made just for pregnant women. So what makes Pretty Mommies different?

First, the 3-step facial care system from Pretty Mommies combines all the cleansing, moisturizing, brightening, clarifying, toning and sun protection you need in only three products:

Second, the Pretty Mommies products are made with ground-breaking formulas that deliver amazing results.

Take the SPF 30 pregnancy sunscreen. If you don’t know, there are only 2 types of sunscreen: those that feature chemicals (oxybenzone, for example) that absorb into the top layer of skin and reflect away harmful sun rays; and those that use barriers (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) to lay atop the skin and prevent rays from penetrating. For women who may want to get pregnant someday, or who are pregnant, the safest choice of sunscreens are those that use the barrier method, as the safety of chemical sunscreens is being called into question, with oxybenzone being a suspected hormone-disruptor, among other concerns.

But the zinc oxide and titanium dioxide used in barrier sunscreens often leaves skin showing white streaks. Tinted barrier sunscreens still may not match skin tone perfectly. If you have brown, olive, dark brown, or otherwise darker skin, barrier sunscreens have been less than ideal—until now.

Pretty Mommies Protect & Reflect SPF 30 Pregnancy Sunscreen applies clear. Clear.
It smooths on skin easily, and actually fills in depressions or fine lines to make a fabulous primer for makeup. Like I said: revolutionary.

At Maternitique, we strive to find only the best products available for your pregnant skin and body, the ones that not only have the safest ingredients for you and your baby, but also the ones that, after use, will make our customers say, “Wow!” Pretty Mommies pregnancy skin care does just that.

If, after 14 days of using the Pretty Mommies 3-Step pregnancy skin care system, you don’t say “wow,” we’ll be surprised.

Founder of Pretty Mommies Gina Zeiger is no newcomer to skin care. As a former skin care rep, she sold international brands of prescription skin care products to dermatologists’ offices and their patients. But after becoming pregnant and experiencing the mask of pregnancy (melasma) and pregnancy acne, she began to closely examine the products she sold and used. She began to research and examine ingredients used in cosmetic preparations and was shocked at what she learned. For instance, a very common prescription strength skin lightening ingredient, hydroquinone, has many adverse side effects and is linked to neurotoxicity, organ toxicity as well as reproductive and developmental toxicity. Retin-A and Accutane, prescription anti-acne skin products, have been shown to cause birth defects and should be avoided while pregnant—and long before getting pregnant. The safety of salicylic acid, the active ingredient in many over-the-counter and prescription acne products, is also being called into question.

When Gina asked dermatologists what they recommended to pregnant women to solve their pregnancy skin care issues, she found out that the options were extremely limited. Most dermatologists said they waited until after pregnancy to even recommend anything to their patients due to safety and concern regarding what was currently available.

Dissatisfied with that non-solution, Gina set out to develop a pregnancy skin care line that would solve both melasma and pregnancy acne and other common skin problems associated with motherhood. She was determined to create a line that was completely safe and highly effective, more so than any other brand on the market.

Her goal was to make products that would replicate the results of prescription-strength skin care line using only all natural ingredients that can be highly recommended by dermatologists for pregnant women. After years of research and conscientious formulation, Pretty Mommies was born and she’s achieved that goal.

The ingredients in Pretty Mommies are highly concentrated, natural, and the right balance of strong and gentle. In other words, they’re effective at clearly brightening skin’s dark spots, evening skin tone, tightening pores, smoothing fine lines and clearing up acne and most of the ingredients are recommended in the diet of pregnant and nursing women. So the ingredients are still gentle and safe enough to be ingested (although you won’t want to do that).

The ingredients list of Pretty Mommies reads like a salad buffet: green tea, red tea, cucumber, orange fiber, matsuke singer (Japanese mushroom) extract, olive-derived squalene, rose hip fruit, olive oil. The list of ingredients NOT included in Pretty Mommies is as important as what is. You won’t find any of these ingredients in Pretty Mommies pregnancy skin care:
